| Designated for the purposes of an asset freeze and a travel ban under the Cyber (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020. The designation is made as a designation by name under the urgent procedure. The relevant provisions by reference to which the Minister considers that condition B is met are US Executive Orders 13694 and 13757. These provisions are made for purposes which se provisions correspond to or are similar to the purpose of the Cyber (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020, which have as their purposes are to further the prevention of relevant cyber activity, which means (inter alia) an activity falling within paragraph (3) of the regulations which (a) undermines, or is intended to undermine, the integrity, prosperity or security of the United Kingdom or a country other than the United Kingdom, (b) directly or indirectly causes, or is intended to cause, economic loss to, or prejudice to the commercial interests of, those affected by the activity, (c) undermines, or is intended to undermine, the independence or effective functioning of an international organisation, or a non-governmental organisation or forum whose mandate or purposes relate to the governance of international sport or the Internet, or (d) otherwise affects a significant number of persons in an indiscriminate manner. The Minister considers that it is in the public interest to designate (condition C). |
